Shawn HoganShawn Hogan of Digital Point Solution, the company running the well known Digital Point webmaster forums, has been sued by eBay for affiliate fraud. Shawn is accused of having developed software that secretly navigates to eBay.com using Shawn's affiliate link. This causes eBay to save a cookie on the user's system, and give Shawn a commission whenever a new eBay user signs up and bids.

Shawn Hogan became famous when in November 2005 he received a call from an MPAA representative explaining that he was being sued for downloading the motion picture "Meet the Fockers" via BitTorrent. He was given a chance to settle for the cost of $2,500, but Shawn refused and fought the case in court. Wired wrote an article on the case.

I bet he's guilty, I wouldn't bet that he'll lose in court.
